Wound care in hospice is crucial to providing compassionate and comprehensive end-of-life care. Hospice aims to alleviate suffering and promote comfort for patients with advanced illnesses and wounds that can significantly impact their quality of life. Skilled healthcare professionals in hospice settings are trained to assess, treat, and manage various types of wounds, including pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and lesions. The primary goal of wound care in hospice is to prevent infection, minimize pain, and promote wound healing while prioritizing the patient's comfort and dignity. In this episode, Vanessa Maxwell, also known as Nurse V, shares her wealth of knowledge and expertise on wound care management for patients both at home and in a Hospice setting.
